Description
The City of Minneapolis, through its Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) department, is announcing the availability of Year 2027 9% Housing Tax Credits (HTCs). CPED anticipates administering an estimated allocation of $1,844,841 in 9% HTCs for the City of Minneapolis. This funding is intended to support projects that involve building new rental housing for low-income households, rehabilitating existing rental housing, or acquiring and improving existing rental buildings. Applications are to be submitted via SharePoint, and interested parties are encouraged to request access as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting applications is July 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. CDT. An application fee, based on the number of units or a flat rate, is required for both for-profit and non-profit developers. Upon award of tax credits, a reservation deposit of 1.5% of the award and a Special Counsel Fee of $3,500 will also be required. Qualified 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) non-profit organizations are also eligible to apply through a non-profit set-aside pool with the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.
