St. Tammany Parish President, Michael B. Cooper, announces that the St. Tammany Parish Health and Human Services, Community Action Agency is seeking project proposals for the Emergency Solutions Grants Program (ESGP). This program, administered by the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), provides funding for street outreach to the homeless, emergency shelter operations, homeless prevention, and rapid re-housing services. Private nonprofit organizations interested in developing a project proposal may request application materials by contacting St. Tammany Parish Health and Human Services, Community Action Agency at (985) 646-2090. To qualify for funding, private nonprofit organizations must be tax-exempt, have an accounting system and a voluntary board, and practice nondiscrimination. Applicants are required to provide matching funds equal to the grant amount, though exemptions may be allowed under special circumstances. ESG recipients must involve homeless individuals and families in the planning and operation of ESG-funded activities to the maximum extent practicable. The St. Tammany Parish Department of Health and Human Services, Community Action Agency reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals. The deadline for receipt and consideration of proposals is 4:00 PM on July 8, 2026.
