Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price quotation for removal and replacement of exterior chinking at the Lone Cone Cabin. Work includes pressure washing or media blasting to remove old stain and paint; cleaning exterior voids and checks; repairing decayed windowsill and sub-sill portions; chinking all horizontal and vertical log joints; filling voids with appropriate chinking or wood-filler products; applying a heavy coat of borate wood preservative; and applying a high-quality exterior log stain matching the existing color. The contractor must provide a construction schedule, names and qualifications of assigned personnel, a proposed project plan after the pre-work meeting, product submittals, and weekly progress reports during the estimated two-to-four-week work period. Pricing must be submitted on the provided Schedule of Items spreadsheet, with all base line items priced in whole dollars. A 20% bid guarantee is required at offer submission, capped at $3 million. The acquisition is a total small-business set-aside, and the anticipated performance period is November 5, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
