Description
Union County is soliciting a single-prime contractor for lump-sum exterior envelope repairs at its Government Center. The work includes replacing selected floor drains and surrounding concrete topping slabs; connecting new drains to existing storm-drain piping; repairing deteriorated masonry mortar joints, concrete spalls, guardrail post pockets, and exterior sealants; applying waterproofing and cementitious protective coatings; repairing or replacing selected brick units; and selectively replacing insulated-glass units. An alternate includes cleaning and recoating the existing curtain-wall window system, including its insulated-glass units and anodized aluminum frames. The project will be constructed in one phase, with work completed within 240 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must be licensed North Carolina contractors and must submit a lump-sum bid with required unit prices, alternates, subcontractor information, a non-collusion affidavit, an E-Verify affidavit, and bid security equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder must provide full-amount performance and payment bonds and required insurance. The solicitation also requires relevant experience and references, including at least five similar projects for certain repair trades and a completed AIA A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement if included in the bidding documents.
