Description
The City of Akron is conducting an exploratory Request for Information to identify contractors capable of mowing and clearing publicly and privately owned parcels. The anticipated scope includes mowing high weeds and tall grass; clearing underbrush and scrub growth; trimming vegetation around structures, curbs, sidewalks, trees, fences, hydrants, poles, and signs; clearing roadside vegetation up to 10 feet from traveled road edges; and removing and properly disposing of cuttings, debris, and litter. Contractors must provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment, perform work safely without damaging property or utilities, and use a GIS-based public asset management system to receive and close assignments and upload before-and-after photographs. Responses should address company information, service areas, organizational structure, certifications, relevant capabilities and experience, staffing and capacity, equipment inventory, at least three similar-work references, insurance and regulatory compliance, operational approach, and additional information. Insurance certificates, IRS Form W-9, supplier registration materials, banking information, and other formal award-stage requirements are not required at the RFI stage. This RFI is informational only and does not request pricing or commit the City to a future solicitation or award.
