Description
The City of Moline is soliciting bids for demolition and associated site work at its riverfront property at 1 Montgomery Drive. The scope includes selective and complete demolition of designated building sections, removal of roofs, slabs, structural members, foundations, interior and exterior walls, MEPF systems, pavement, sidewalks, utilities, retaining walls, trees, and other site features; protection of structures and utilities that remain; security fencing; utility coordination; staging; debris removal and disposal; grading; erosion and sediment control; and restoration of disturbed areas. The plans also identify temporary heat, electrical and plumbing modifications, fire-protection work, new exterior lighting, and salvage or turnover of designated equipment and materials. The work involves significant environmental and hazardous-material considerations. The package includes asbestos, lead-based paint, PCB, Phase I and Phase II environmental, geotechnical, and MEP reports. Known or assumed asbestos-containing materials include pipe insulation, transite piping, floor tile, roof flashing, window and siding caulking, tower siding, fire doors, boiler components, and air-cell insulation. Lead-based paint is present in multiple areas, and PCB-containing lighting ballasts and regulated containerized materials are identified. The contractor must comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, state, local, and hazardous-waste requirements, including containment, handling, disposal, and environmental remediation requirements that may be supplemented by addendum.
