Description
Rock Island County is soliciting bids for the demolition and asbestos abatement of six flood-prone residential properties under its Flood Hazard Mitigation Program. The work includes removing structures, accessory buildings, fences, driveways, slabs, foundations, vegetation, debris, and other site improvements; disconnecting and sealing sewer services; managing utilities; disposing of materials at approved sites; and complying with applicable environmental, safety, lead, asbestos, prevailing-wage, and public-works requirements. The contractor must complete final grading, backfilling, topsoil placement, seeding, erosion and sediment control, and related site restoration. Bidders must provide itemized pricing, proposed completion time frames, licensing and bonding evidence, a methodology, at least three related references from the past five years, and a bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount. The awarded contractor must complete the work within 45 days unless the County extends the deadline; a performance bond equal to the contract amount is required after award.
