Description
The City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health is seeking a qualified 503A pharmacy contractor to prepare and deliver patient-specific sterile Total Parenteral Nutrition solutions for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. The service must support approximately 20 orders per day and an estimated 2,600 orders annually, operate 365 days per year including weekends and holidays, and provide same-day delivery by 8:00 p.m. for orders transmitted by 1:00 p.m. The contractor must support urgent and emergency orders, electronic HIPAA-compliant ordering, pharmacist order verification, TPN ordering templates, labeling, cold-chain packaging, continuous temperature monitoring, and chain-of-custody documentation. The contractor must operate a certified sterile compounding facility, comply with 503A, USP <797>, applicable federal and California requirements, and maintain appropriate sterility, potency, stability, environmental monitoring, personnel competency, quality assurance, batch-record, and documentation programs. The primary compounding site must be within 50 miles of the hospital. Proposers must demonstrate at least five years of qualifying experience, hold an active California 503A pharmacy license, and provide third-party documentation and proof of licensure. The anticipated contract term is five years with five one-year extension options, and compensation will be based on unit pricing.
