Description
The project replaces the existing HVAC system in Willson Hall, an occupied academic building. Work includes removing existing fan coil and ventilation equipment, exhaust fans, associated piping and ductwork, and installing a new variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system serving the building’s floors, a rooftop dedicated outside-air system with energy recovery and gas heat, new exhaust fans, and upgraded building automation controls integrated with the campus system. The contractor must provide associated structural supports, electrical work, refrigerant piping, ductwork, roof curbs and flashing, and interior repairs. The building will remain occupied, so construction must be phased and coordinated to minimize disruption to academic and building operations. The proposal must include a technical response addressing company experience, three external references for similar work (including at least one from a site comparable to or larger than NMMI), project execution, a detailed phasing plan, technical compliance information and drawings, warranty and support, and a lump-sum cost proposal. A bid bond or other specified proposal security equal to 5% of the proposed contract price is required. The successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds after award. The project has 175 working days for completion; the construction period will be established by the Notice to Proceed.
