Description
The project involves installing approximately 1,385 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer, three 4-inch property service connections, eight 4-foot watertight sanitary manholes, and connections to two existing manholes. The work also includes pavement restoration, erosion prevention and sediment control, traffic control, project signage, photography and video documentation, mobilization, and related appurtenant work. The contractor must decommission the existing Kirby Lane Pump Station, reconstruct the existing wet well as a manhole, abandon associated force-main and pump-station structures, maintain uninterrupted sewer service during construction, and complete required testing, inspections, restoration, and documentation. The project has an engineer’s construction cost estimate of $800,000 to $1,000,000. A 35% certified Small Business Enterprise subcontracting goal applies, with good-faith-effort documentation permitted when the goal cannot be met. The contractor must self-perform at least 40% of the installed work. The contract requires a 7.5% bid bond, 100% performance and payment bonds, and a maintenance bond as specified by the solicitation.
