Description
The 15th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) requires flight antennas and batteries to support ongoing operational mission requirements. These tactical communication antennas and battery systems must integrate seamlessly with existing government-owned communication equipment. The antennas must support multi-band operation (225-450MHz and 1250-2700MHz), have an omni-directional radiation pattern, a nominal impedance of 50 ohms, a VSWR of 2.5:1 (2:1 typical), vertical polarization, and a power handling of at least 25 watts. They must also feature an integrated Antenna Matching Unit (AMU), UV-stable radome, corrosion-resistant materials, and meet MIL-STD-810 environmental conditions. The batteries must be rechargeable lithium-ion chemistry, compatible with supported handheld and tactical radios, and feature smart battery capability for status monitoring. Specifically, the BB-2590/U form factor with 251Wh capacity is required, along with a compatible EPDM O-ring for environmental sealing. Equivalent items are acceptable provided they meet the exact form, fit, and function of the specified part numbers.
