Description
This solicitation is for a turn-key project to provide levee erosion control services using native vegetation for the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge in Jasper County, South Carolina. The project involves preparing approximately 100 acres of managed wetland levees by mowing, applying herbicides to control invasive species, leveling eroded and subsided areas, and installing native herbaceous vegetation for soil stabilization and habitat improvement. The objectives include removing 99% of invasive species, repairing 100% of eroded levee slopes, establishing a crown on 100% of levee tops, and establishing at least five species of native grasses and five native forbs beneficial to pollinators on all levee slopes and tops. Deliverables include an initial work plan, monthly progress reports, and a final project report. The period of performance is from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027, with potential for extension due to unforeseen conditions. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, equipment, native seed, and materials, while the government will provide access to refuge lands and administer agency requirements.
