Description
The California Air National Guard, 146th Airlift Wing, is planning a refresh of their Land Mobile Radios (LMRs). This requirement is for 65 new Motorola APX6000 Model 1.5 portable radios in VHF, which will replace End-of-Life Motorola XTS 2500 LMRs. The new radios must conform to Project 25 (P25) standards, including Phase I (FDMA, Conventional and Trunking) and Phase II (TDMA Trunking) capabilities. They must also be compatible with existing LMR fleets and support ASTRO(r)25 and L3 Harris VIDA Core systems. Key features include P25 Link Layer Authentication, 9600 Baud Trunking, ASTRO OTAR with MultiKey, SmartZone Operation, AES Encryption (256-bit), Over-the-Air Rekeying (OTAR), and Over-the-Air Zeroization (OTAZ). The radios will operate in a single band and have a talk-group capacity of 1,000+. The solicitation will also include necessary accessories such as antennas, programming cables, batteries, chargers, and carry clips. This is expected to be a firm-fixed-price contract with an anticipated completion date of January 29, 2027, or sooner.
