Description
The National Park Service (NPS) requires the design, fabrication, and installation of seven cremone bolt hardware assemblies for casemate enclosure doors at Fort Pulaski National Monument in Savannah, Georgia. The project involves field verification, hardware design or modification, production of drawings and specifications, fabrication and finishing of assemblies, prototype review, delivery, installation support, maintenance documentation, and warranty support. Commercially available historic hardware systems are acceptable if modified to meet project requirements, including compatibility with the historic character and operational needs of the monument. The work must adhere to specific material requirements (C95400 aluminum-bronze), corrosion resistance for coastal exposure, and historically sympathetic appearance. The assemblies must be modular, field-adjustable, and accommodate accessibility requirements while minimizing modifications to existing doors and framing. A prototype must be fabricated and installed for review before full production. The contractor must provide a Quality Control Plan and a minimum three-year warranty. The solicitation is a Request for Quotations (RFQ) using Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection procedures.
