Description
Beaufort County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for interior renovations to the Beaufort County Courthouse. The project involves work on the atrium and main lobby (upper and lower levels), men's and women's restrooms (upper and lower levels), and two courtrooms. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of flooring and wall treatments, replacement of acoustical ceiling tiles, refinishing of millwork, and refurbishment or replacement of courtroom benches and tables. The existing finishes and furnishings are approximately 32 years old and have exceeded their anticipated useful life. Asbestos testing reports indicate that no asbestos mineral fibers were detected in the project areas, allowing renovation activities to proceed as planned. Contractors will be subject to security screening, including background checks and fingerprinting, due to the secure nature of the facility.
