Description
The Fiscal Year 2026 Kidney Cancer Research Program (KCRP) Idea Development Award (IDA) aims to foster high-impact research that advances the understanding of kidney cancer and ultimately improves patient outcomes. This grant supports well-formulated, testable hypotheses based on strong scientific rationale and a well-developed research approach, requiring personnel with a strong background in kidney cancer research. The award offers a "Partnering Principal Investigator Option" to support collaborations between two investigators. The maximum award amount is $900,000 for a single PI or $1.2 million for the Partnering PI option, with a maximum period of performance of 3 years. Applicants must address at least one of the KCRP focus areas, which include basic biology research, identifying and developing new screening and diagnostic strategies, understanding rare kidney cancers, developing novel therapeutic strategies, improving quality of life and survivorship, and enhancing outcomes in high-risk populations. Clinical trials are not permitted under this funding opportunity.
