Description
Broward County Aviation Department is soliciting proposals for a hardware-agnostic artificial intelligence security screening system that enhances four existing X-ray machines used for employee screening at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The system must detect and identify TSA-designated prohibited items, reduce false positives, support on-premises, cloud, or hybrid deployment, operate in stand-alone mode, integrate with industry-standard X-ray and CT equipment, and provide image search, dashboards, analytics, reporting, APIs, real-time image handling, and scalable model updates. The awarded contractor will furnish required software, hardware, peripherals, services, licenses, and third-party components; install and configure the system; integrate it with existing security infrastructure; conduct testing and acceptance activities; train security operators and IT personnel; and provide ongoing maintenance, support, cybersecurity, patch management, model optimization, and reporting. Requirements include U.S.-based regional support, U.S.-only data hosting and storage, encryption, VPN and multifactor authentication, NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO 27001/27002 compliance, vulnerability management, privacy controls, and security-event integration. The initial contract term is three years with two one-year renewal options. Evaluation includes personnel qualifications, project approach, past performance, functionality and demonstrations, location, and pricing.
