Description
Broward County’s Transportation Department is soliciting an open-end, indefinite-quantity construction contract for ADA improvements at bus stop sites throughout the county. Work includes civil improvements and installation of transit amenities, including concrete landing pads and sidewalks, curbs and curb cuts, detectable warning surfaces, asphalt, drainage-related work, signs, benches, trash receptacles, and bike racks. Work orders will typically cover five to twenty geographically related bus stops. The contract is federally funded through the Federal Transit Administration and is subject to FTA requirements, Buy America certification requirements for applicable iron, steel, manufactured products, or construction materials, Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements, and other federal certifications. The initial term is three years from award, with up to two one-year renewals. A bid bond or alternate bid security equal to five percent of the total bid is required, and performance and payment bonds are required after award. The contractor must perform at least 75 percent of the total contract price itself. The solicitation includes an estimated annual pass-through allowance of $85,000 for permits, inspections, specialized construction activities, and parts or materials.
