Description
The National Park Service is soliciting sealed bids for a firm-fixed-price construction contract to replace HVAC systems at the Monocacy National Battlefield Visitor Center. The work includes replacing the existing York 15-ton DX air-conditioning split system, Weil-McLain boiler, and 12,000- and 18,000-BTU Liebert split systems; providing temporary cooling if optional items are exercised; completing associated demolition, concrete, electrical, piping, ductwork, controls, testing, balancing, commissioning, disposal, and restoration; and integrating the new equipment with the existing Siemens controls. Amendment Q&A clarifies that bidders must match the capacities and capabilities of the existing equipment on site, may propose alternate manufacturers meeting the specified performance and compatibility requirements, and must provide their own qualified controls integrator. The contractor must provide licensed trade personnel, qualified supervision, safety and quality-control plans, licenses, insurance, and other required submittals. Work is subject to historic-property protections, Davis-Bacon wage requirements, applicable codes and safety regulations, and performance and payment bonds. The period of performance is eight months, from September 23, 2026, through May 23, 2027.
