Description
Chicago Public Schools is soliciting bids from contractors in its prequalified various-trades pool for the conversion of Goode High School's hydronic system to glycol. The scope includes supplying and pumping 5,625 gallons of 100% propylene glycol; providing 21 empty 275-gallon totes to capture system water; transporting the captured water off site to a GWT facility for processing and disposal; and furnishing logistics, project management, mechanical operators, and on-site labor to remove system water, purge and bleed the system, and confirm startup and proper functionality. The contractor must provide necessary permits, field-verify project conditions, coordinate work with authorized representatives, remove construction debris, and comply with the specified CPS mechanical standards, including Sections 23 21 14 and 23 25 00. The bid cover sheet must be completed, signed, and dated. Warranty information is required when applicable. For bids of $25,000 or more, a 5% bid bond is required; bids of $50,000 or more must include the payment and performance bond premium; and bids of $75,000 or more require completion of the applicable MBE/WBE forms. The solicitation also includes extensive requirements for hydronic specialties, glycol or makeup-water fill systems, HVAC water treatment, testing, reporting, and maintenance service where applicable.
