Description
Manchester Water Works is soliciting bids for harvesting marked trees across three units totaling approximately 51 acres in Chester and Auburn, New Hampshire. The estimated timber volume is approximately 234,310 board feet and 1,146 tons; bidders must provide prices per unit for the listed forest products. Volumes are not guaranteed, and bidders are expected to inspect the properties and independently assess volumes, values, and operating conditions. The contractor will conduct harvesting and trucking, construct log landings and improve access roads as needed, manage slash and damaged trees, and restore landings, skid trails, and truck roads. Operations must occur during dry or frozen ground conditions between October 15 and March 15; harvesting and trucking must be completed by March 15, 2027, and site restoration by June 15, 2027. The contractor is responsible for required permits, taxes, insurance, and a $5,000 security deposit serving as a performance bond at contract signing. Bids are evaluated on estimated revenue, qualifications, experience, and approach; bidders and subcontractors must not have had timber-harvesting-related misdemeanor or felony charges during the preceding five years.
