Description
The Alaska Railroad Corporation seeks a contractor to clear vegetation, chip and mulch brush, and remove timber along an approximately 8.1-mile railroad right-of-way corridor between mileposts 186.9 and 195.0. The base bid covers approximately 39.67 acres, with two additive alternatives covering an additional 28.7 acres. Work includes removing and/or mulching trees, shrubs, brush, and downed timber within designated limits, while railroad operations remain active. The contractor must provide labor, equipment, on-track machinery, materials, supervision, and quality control, and coordinate access, work windows, and track protection with the railroad. Substantial completion is required by February 21, 2027, and final completion by March 21, 2027. Bidders must attend the mandatory site visit, and the bid must include the completed construction bid form, bid security, contractor responsibility questionnaire, cost schedule, and applicable federal lobbying certification. The bid bond is 5% of the bid price. The solicitation states that payment and performance bonds, each at 100% of the contract amount, are required for award.
