Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Cayman Chemical Company, Inc. for the design and manufacture of Emergent Drug Panel-Version 2 kits containing reference materials for emerging synthetic opioids and related drugs of concern. Kits must meet or exceed Current Good Manufacturing Practice standards, and the contractor must obtain and maintain the DEA exemption or registration status needed to distribute controlled and non-controlled reference materials. The scope also includes nationwide distribution of EDP-V2 and existing Emergent Drug Panel kits to approved laboratories; ongoing product support, customer service, and technical assistance; collection, maintenance, and reporting of distribution and use-case metrics; and stability testing of existing materials nearing expiration to assess potential shelf-life extensions. The anticipated period of performance is September 30, 2026, through September 29, 2027, with four option years. This is a notice of intent to solicit and negotiate with one source rather than a request for competitive quotations, although capability responses will be considered.
