Description
The City of Atlanta is soliciting Phase I statements of qualifications from qualified engineering firms for replacement of the distressed Marietta Road Bridge over the former CSX Tilford Yard. The project includes replacing the existing 423.5-foot, five-span concrete box-beam bridge; constructing a new bridge, pavement, curb and gutter, and continuous five-foot sidewalks on both sides; and providing approximately 0.8 mile of sidewalk improvements along Marietta Road to Perry Boulevard/West Marietta Street. Required capabilities include roadway design, minor bridge design, railroad coordination, environmental and traffic services, surveying, utility engineering, bridge foundations, construction engineering and supervision, and erosion and sedimentation control. The prime consultant must meet specified Georgia Department of Transportation prequalification requirements, while the team must cover additional listed area classes. Phase I requires experience and qualifications, project-manager and key-team-leader information, resources and workload capacity, prior-project references, applicable compliance forms, insurance insurability documentation, and a proposed Phase I solution. This is a two-phase qualification-based selection; only shortlisted firms will receive Phase II technical-approach instructions, and no cost proposal is required in Phase I or Phase II beyond the required nominal line-item entry.
