Description
The City of Spokane is soliciting proposals for an individual to serve as the Head Golf Professional/Manager for the Esmeralda Golf Course. This role will encompass the operation of the golf course, clubhouse, driving range, and pro shop. Esmeralda Golf Course, established in 1956, is a 6,331-yard, par-70 course known for its tree-lined fairways and appeal to various skill levels. The facilities include a pro shop, a grass driving range, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and an outdated downstairs apartment within the clubhouse building. Key responsibilities will include managing all aspects of the golf course operations, including customer readiness by the 2027 golf season, potential pro shop renovations, and securing necessary licenses. The selected professional will be responsible for staff recruitment and training, providing sixty power carts no older than five years, and outlining off-season activities. The proposal should also detail plans for obtaining adequate pro shop merchandise, operating the driving range, and collaborating with the City's golf course superintendent and maintenance staff. A proposed operating and capital budget for 2027-2031 is required. The proposal should also include a business plan, technical proposal, management proposal, and cost proposal. Minimum qualifications include being licensed to do business in Washington State and holding a PGA certification. The contract period is for five years, with a potential for one five-year renewal. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the City of Spokane's ProcureWare portal.
