Description
Harris County Flood Control District is soliciting bids for one year of mowing and various maintenance services in its Central Northwest Region, beginning approximately January 1, 2027. The scope includes mowing channels, basins, tree-planting sites, sensitive habitat areas, and buy-out lots; hand trimming and edging; debris removal and disposal; fence-line pruning; standing tree removal; herbicide application; and common labor crews and tools. Work may involve conventional and specialized mowing equipment, slope mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, pole saws, herbicide application equipment, and other equipment appropriate to site conditions. The contract includes three mowing cycles for channels and basins, monthly buy-out-lot mowing from March through December, and work orders for additional maintenance activities. The contractor must provide equipment and personnel, submit mowing schedules and applicable work plans, comply with prevailing-wage and Harris County minimum-wage requirements, maintain required safety programs and records, and provide required insurance, bonds, certified payroll, and M/WBE utilization documentation. The solicitation permits up to four one-year renewal options, subject to County approval and CPI-W-based price adjustments. Attendance at the October 7, 2026, virtual pre-bid conference was mandatory for a responsive bid.
