Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for a firm-fixed-price, design-bid-build construction project supporting Electronic Health Records Modernization at an existing medical center. The work includes demolition and site preparation; fiber optic distribution and connections; telecommunications room upgrades with architectural, electrical, mechanical, equipment-fitting, and cabling work; horizontal cabling upgrades from telecommunications rooms to work area outlets; supporting electrical and mechanical upgrades; and physical security improvements for the data center and telecommunications rooms. The anticipated project magnitude is $20 million to $50 million, with an estimated duration of 689 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Respondents must submit a capabilities statement addressing company qualifications, business size and socioeconomic status, project interest, bonding capacity, and two to five relevant projects. Relevant experience must include projects of at least $18 million that are at least 75% complete within the six years preceding the future RFP posting date, performed at operational medical facilities and collectively demonstrating the specified mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunications, fiber, phasing, utility tie-in, infection-control, and constrained-site experience. A completed Project Labor Agreement questionnaire and a bonding-company letter of intent are also required. This is a Sources Sought notice, not a solicitation or request for bids or proposals.
