Description
The Torrington Board of Education is soliciting sealed bids for full-service maintenance, repair, testing, and emergency response for ten elevators and one wheelchair lift across six public-school facilities. The scope includes preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, repairs and replacement of worn parts, safety and statutory testing, maintenance-control-program records, reporting, and 24/7 callback and emergency response. The contractor must provide qualified technicians, labor, equipment, materials, parts, transportation, and supervision in accordance with applicable codes and manufacturer requirements. Addendum No. 2 adds an alternate bid for quarterly preventive-maintenance visits instead of the monthly base-bid schedule. All other full-service obligations, emergency callback requirements, annual and five-year testing, state inspection support, and certified filings remain in effect. Bidders must submit pricing for both alternatives and acknowledge Addendum No. 2 in Section D, Item 10 of the Bid Form; failure to acknowledge it may render a bid nonresponsive. The Board may award using either the monthly or quarterly schedule, and the quarterly option includes a special provision allowing service calls or monitoring at Vogel-Wetmore Elementary School to exceed quarterly intervals when needed for safe operation.
