Description
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District is seeking one contractor for a five-year, requirements-based Tire Mileage and Leasing Program covering approximately 619 buses. The scope includes leasing steel-belted radial tires in specified heavy-duty bus sizes; maintaining adequate spare inventory; mounting, dismounting, balancing, rotating, repairing, regrooving, recapping, and replacing tires; wheel installation and torqueing; inspections; tire-pressure checks; inventory control; reporting; recall management; and disposal or recycling of unserviceable casings. Services must support all four operating divisions, six days per week, with day and graveyard coverage, emergency and after-hours support, trained and licensed personnel, safety and quality-control procedures, and service continuity that does not prevent buses from returning to revenue service the next day. Proposals must address the technical approach, staffing, qualifications, references, safety and quality control, reporting technology, transition and implementation, financial qualifications, pricing, political contributions, subcontractors, and required forms and supporting documentation.
