Description
McHenry County College is seeking a qualified flooring contractor to remove and replace existing flooring on the first floor of Building E. The estimated area is approximately 5,400 square feet, plus 40 square feet for the elevator; quantities must be field-verified. Work includes removal and disposal of existing flooring and adhesives as needed, substrate preparation, and installation of specified ShawContract luxury vinyl tile products in the layouts shown on the project map. Substitutions require prior written approval. The contractor must protect existing property, maintain a clean work area, and place markers over Walkerduct access covers. Work is scheduled during winter break, and prevailing wage requirements apply. Bidders must provide a total project price using the provided pricing sheet and submit the required bid materials, including a cover letter, references, and the applicable BEP utilization plan and supporting documentation. A 30% aspirational BEP participation goal applies; bidders must meet it or document good-faith efforts. Insurance and a performance bond are required before work begins under the stated conditions; the performance bond applies to projects over $50,000.
