Description
The City of Geneva seeks a certified and qualified contractor to install, troubleshoot, repair, splice, terminate, and test outside fiber optic cable and related conduit infrastructure at various locations throughout the city. The work includes aerial and underground cable installation; conduit, raceway, pull box, cable tag, and ancillary equipment installation; fusion splicing of single-mode armored fiber; reel and post-installation testing; documentation submittals; traffic control; and restoration of pavement, landscaping, and other disturbed surfaces. The City will furnish specified fiber optic cable, while the contractor must furnish the remaining labor, equipment, materials, storage, transportation, and installation resources. The contract covers work through April 30, 2027, with a one-year option to extend through April 30, 2028. Proposals must use the owner-furnished forms and include the required certifications, experience affidavit, pricing for labor and equipment, proposed subcontractors, bid security, and other specified bid documents. The contractor must perform at least 25 percent of the construction directly, comply with prevailing-wage requirements, and provide the required insurance and performance/payment bond after award.
