Description
The City of Elgin is soliciting bids for renovation of Wing Park. The base work includes demolition of existing paths, concrete, playground surfacing and equipment, and a restroom building, followed by construction of new asphalt and concrete paths, playground improvements, sport-court surfacing, parking-related work, fencing, site furniture, utilities, drainage, irrigation, signage, lighting-related work, and landscape restoration. The contractor must install owner-purchased playground equipment and site furniture and furnish other specified equipment and materials. Eight alternates cover a wetland boardwalk and paths, restroom building construction, a west parking lot, ADA baseball plaza improvements, a pedestrian bridge and adjoining paths, sports plaza lighting and tennis-fence replacement, Sulphur Spring improvements, and wetland restoration and maintenance. The bid requires a 5% bid bond, a full contract bond from the successful bidder, insurance, prevailing-wage compliance, responsible-bidder documentation, qualified references for similar projects, employee-utilization and equal-employment materials, a sexual-harassment-policy certification, and a completed pricing sheet. Final completion is specified for November 15, 2027, with remaining landscaping due by June 1, 2028.
