Description
The U.S. Geological Survey requires mineral separation services for approximately 125 geological samples under a five-year contract. The work includes processing whole-rock and unconsolidated sediment samples; breaking down rock using electro-pulse disaggregation and jaw-crusher techniques; and separating zircon, apatite, monazite, and other heavy-mineral phases using density- and magnetic-based methods. The contractor must perform the separation in-house with trained technical staff and accommodate kilogram-sized samples as well as small drillcore samples. For each sample, the contractor must record receipt and processing notes digitally within two business days, complete the agreed separation methods within six weeks of receipt, clearly label mineral splits, and return the mineral concentrates, remaining original material, and a brief results report. Quotes must include a technical description sufficient to demonstrate capability and capacity, along with pricing per sample.
