Description
The University of Texas at Arlington is soliciting proposals for turnkey modernization of up to 36 elevators across multiple campus buildings. The work includes engineering, field verification, design and shop drawings, labor, materials, equipment, permits, transportation, supervision, installation, testing, commissioning, code compliance, cleanup, and coordination with the University, consultant, authorities having jurisdiction, suppliers, and subcontractors. The scope covers traction and hydraulic passenger and service elevators, including modernization of controllers, machines, drives, doors, door operators, safety systems, signal fixtures, communication systems, car interiors, wiring, emergency and fire-service features, and related hoistway, machine-room, pit, electrical, fire-protection, and architectural work. Addendum 4 excludes HVAC repair and replacement for elevator machine rooms, control rooms, and mechanical spaces; the University will address those systems. Proposers must price revised Tarkett Mesto cab flooring, retain and reinstall existing elevator certificate holders, and replace damaged or unsuitable holders with comparable units at no additional cost. The procurement is identified as a one-time requirement with delivery scheduled for December 1, 2026.
