Description
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of delivering the AFRAT Portable HPGe Gamma Spectrometer. This device is crucial for the Air Force Radiation Assessment Teams (AFRAT) Labs, requiring a mobile, advanced radiation detection capability to support their mission of characterizing and determining the half-life of various radioisotopes in field environments. The acquisition is for two units, with a minimum 10-year shelf life and three years of software licensing. Failing to acquire this capability would leave AFRAT without critical field-diagnostic tools, compromising their mission and potentially leading to delayed or incorrect emergency responses and increased radiation exposure risks. Key technical requirements include the spectrometer itself, shipping case, internal and spare batteries, AC power supply, external battery chargers, spectroscopy software (Genie-Single Spectroscopy Suite and ISOXCAL-SOCS Characterization, Standard HPGe), a ruggedized laptop with specific minimum specifications, and on-site installation and support. The contractor shall also provide required training. Delivery is to Wright Patterson Medical Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, with a lead time of no later than 120 days after contract award. The manufacturer's warranty shall be honored by the contractor.
