Description
The USDA National Centers for Animal Health requires the replacement of two pass-through autoclaves/sterilizers in the Diagnostic Virology Laboratory located on the third floor of Building 20 at their Ames, Iowa facility. This solicitation covers the removal of existing units, the supply and installation of new autoclaves (Primus Model PSS-F-MSHDD or approved equal), setup, programming, commissioning, and training for USDA operators and maintenance technicians. The new autoclaves must meet specific internal chamber dimensions, door configuration, controls, and warranty requirements. The installation portion of this requirement is subject to a specific wage determination. The project includes the supply of two autoclaves: one for the base item (Autoclave 3822) and one for Option Item 1 (Autoclave 3536). The contractor is responsible for all labor, parts, and materials for installation, including connections to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Disposal of the old autoclaves must comply with all federal, state, and local codes. The contractor must also provide documentation acknowledging manufacturer support for maintenance and repair services. Training for facility staff, operators, and supervisors is required upon equipment startup.
