Description
The City of New Richmond is soliciting proposals from qualified individuals or entities to lease City-owned agricultural land for lawful crop production. Proposers may submit for one or both locations: the 12-acre Business & Technical Park parcel and the 99-acre Airport Property parcel. Tenants will be responsible for farming operations, inputs, equipment, labor, crop risk, weed control, and maintaining the property in a neat, safe, and productive condition. Airport-property operations must comply with aviation-safety, runway-protection, drainage, lighting, signage, FAA, and Wisconsin Department of Transportation requirements. Subleasing or assignment requires written City approval. The lease term is January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029. Proposals must state the parcels proposed, annual rent for each parcel, intended crops or agricultural use, and relevant experience, and must include proposer information and a signature. Proposals will be evaluated primarily on annual rent, responsiveness and completeness, prior responsible agricultural-land leasing experience with the City, and the City's best interests. Minimum insurance requirements are identified for general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, employers' liability, umbrella or excess liability, and pollution liability when applicable.
