Description
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, through the Florida Forest Service, seeks a contractor to plant approximately 480 acres within Goethe State Forest. The work includes machine planting approximately 454 acres of bare-root slash pine seedlings at the Otter Creek Tract and hand planting approximately 26 acres of containerized longleaf pine seedlings at the Daniels Island Tract, both at a target density of 726 trees per acre. The Department will provide the seedlings; the contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, supervision, and seedling handling. The contractor must maintain at least two operational planting machines, meet specified planting and seedling-care standards, provide sufficient personnel to average at least 15 acres per day, comply with forestry best management practices, and coordinate work with the Florida Forest Service. The anticipated contract period begins upon purchase-order execution and continues through February 28, 2027; planting may not begin before December 1, 2026, and must be completed by January 31, 2027. Bids will be awarded to the responsive and responsible vendor offering the lowest grand total price.
