Description
The City of Garden City seeks a licensed private tree-trimming contractor to provide supervision, labor, equipment, debris removal, and incidental services for tree and brush cutting and removal along electric distribution lines, public rights-of-way, alleys, roadways, and designated parks areas during 2027–2029. The scope includes clearing approximately 49, 52, and 44 overhead electric-line miles in 2027, 2028, and 2029; approximately 21 solid-waste-route miles each year; and parks and recreation work budgeted at $20,000 per year. Work includes maintaining specified clearances from energized conductors, removing wood waste, and trimming vegetation to accommodate utility vehicles. The contractor must provide personnel trained and certified to work around live energized power lines, comply with applicable safety and nondiscrimination requirements, and maintain required general liability, workers’ compensation, and motor-vehicle insurance. Bidders must submit pricing on the Bid Sheet and Certification, provide three professional references for similar right-of-way clearing work performed within the previous 24 months, and identify any exceptions to the specifications. The contract is expected to begin within 30 days after authorization to proceed, with each year’s work completed within 120 days of the contract execution date; no more than three crews may operate simultaneously without City approval.
