Description
The City of Lansing is seeking a KDOT-prequalified consulting firm to provide pre-construction engineering and project management for the South Lansing Side Path and Main Street Crosswalk Project. The work includes designing a 10-foot multi-use path along 4H Road and 147th Street, connecting the Wyndham Subdivision path with the Ridge Street sidewalk at Lansing High School, and designing modifications to the traffic signal at Main Street (Kansas Highway 7) and 4H Road to accommodate a pedestrian crossing. Signal timing, hardware, pavement markings, and potentially sidewalk modifications are included. Construction inspection and testing are identified as relevant work categories. The technical proposal must not exceed 25 pages, including cover sheets and indexes, and must not include costs. It should describe the consultant’s approach and processes for completing the work and address the project manager or engineer in charge, similar-project history, staff availability, cost-reduction practices, and any proposed subconsultants and their roles. Proposed subconsultants must complete the Certificate of Final Indirect Costs and Tax Clearance Certificate. Proposals are evaluated and ranked on factors including past performance, staff training, similar experience, available resources, familiarity with the project area, and office accessibility.
