Description
The State of Iowa is soliciting competitive bids for a single shipment of specified food items to the Woodward Distribution Center. The requirements include 10,000 pounds of fully cooked diced white chicken, 10,000 pounds of ground turkey, 12,000 pounds of diced frozen carrots, 10,000 pounds of frozen cauliflower clusters, margarine and vegetable spread, 20,000 individually wrapped frozen muffins, 12,000 pounds of crinkle-cut French fries, 100 bags of powdered sugar, and 192 cases of medium salsa or picante sauce. Detailed product specifications include required grades, package sizes, ingredients, preparation, and restrictions on substitutions and certain flavors. All prices must include freight and fuel costs on an FOB-destination, freight-prepaid basis. Products must be delivered in one shipment, palletized and shrink-wrapped, in clean insulated trailers, with labeling and pack-date and pack-origin documentation available upon request. Damaged or nonconforming freight may be refused, and bidders must ship the products identified in their bids. The resulting contract term begins after the five-day appeal period following issuance of the notice of intent to award. Bidders must complete the electronic response questions and upload the required Terminations, Litigation and Debarment document and Form 22; a redacted public copy of the bid is also required if confidential treatment is requested.
