Description
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services seeks professional design services for replacing two existing Reznor heaters with new heating, cooling, and controls systems at the Iowa Prison Industries Building. The project includes design for two areas of an existing building, approximately 9,000 and 21,000 square feet, including electrical, exhaust, air supply, louvers, equipment pads, and ductwork. The design must separately track construction estimates and costs for adding cooling to the east-side area. The selected firm will provide design, preconstruction, construction administration, and closeout services, including field examination and survey as needed; drawings, specifications, cost opinions, and code documents; coordination with state agencies and the construction manager; design reviews; bidding assistance; construction-phase site visits and reporting; and project closeout. Proposals must include separate technical and cost files. The technical proposal must address firm qualifications, staff experience, relevant project experience, approach, and project execution. The cost proposal must provide lump-sum pricing, hourly rates, reimbursables, inspection-visit pricing, and subcontracted-service costs.
