Description
The U.S. Geological Survey is seeking nonpersonal technical assistance for the initial conceptual development of an estuary model addressing oil-particle aggregate resuspension, transport, and deposition. The contractor will review up to five open-source estuary hydrodynamic and spill models, help define model boundaries, guide background-data compilation, and advise on incorporating oil-particle aggregate formation and transport into the selected model framework. Additional work includes monthly collaboration with the USGS team, preparation or co-authorship of a technical note or fact sheet describing the benefits and limitations of Great Lakes estuary spill models, and assistance preparing an overview PowerPoint presentation. Performance is office work at the contractor’s location, with no travel or government IT access required. The firm-fixed-price period of performance is September 30, 2026, through September 29, 2027; the listed subtasks run through January 31, 2027.
