Description
Hillsborough County intends to award a sole-source procurement to Fire Armor L.L.C. for a one-time purchase of ballistic equipment kits for its Fire Rescue Department. The $91,558.86 purchase will outfit additional vehicles with equipment identical to the department’s existing 585 sets, supporting operational consistency and standardization. The Fire Armor ballistic systems are identified as NIJ-certified and provide comprehensive 360-degree protection while meeting the department’s operational, safety, training, and compatibility requirements. Fire Armor is described as the manufacturer and sole provider of the proprietary armor system. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; interested contractors may submit clear and convincing information challenging the intended sole-source award to determine whether bona fide competition exists.
