Description
The State of Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is soliciting bids for a one-year contract to supply and deliver up to 50,000 cubic yards of natural or manufactured sand, estimated at 67,500 tons, for shoreline management activities. Deliveries will serve Pickering Beach, Kitts Hummock, and Slaughter Beach in Kent County, with up to 15,000 cubic yards estimated for each location. Sand must be clean and free of organic matter, trash, debris, potentially staining minerals, iron, and clay. It must meet specified gradation and color requirements, including a median grain size of 0.3 to 1.18 millimeters, no more than 3 percent retained on the No. 4 sieve, and no more than 3 percent passing the No. 200 sieve. Vendors must be capable of delivering at least 1,000 cubic yards per day at a project location and must submit gradation test reports before delivery. The contract may be renewed for three additional one-year extensions; quantities and contract value are not guaranteed.
