Description
The Town of Glastonbury is soliciting bids for gravel crushing operations at its Bulky Waste Facility. The contractor must furnish labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and supervision to crush approximately 15,000 tons of bituminous concrete and other aggregate materials into 2-inch-minus gravel, move approximately 10% of the processed material to a Town-designated storage area, and identify an off-site disposal location for the remaining approximately 90%, subject to Town approval. Alternate pricing is requested for removal and disposal of the 90% portion. Work includes site access and maintenance, tracking mats, cleanup, load-slip documentation, measurement by the facility truck scale, and operation during specified weekday hours. The bid provides for completion within one year of award and requires the listed proposal forms, similar-work references, ethics acknowledgment, non-collusion certification, and bid-bond documentation. Required insurance includes workers’ compensation, employer’s liability, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and umbrella or excess liability coverage.
