Description
West Virginia University is soliciting proposals from qualified general contractors for complete construction of five new cast-in-place concrete stairways in the North End Zone of Milan Puskar Stadium, including retaining walls, foundations, landings, excavation, masonry finishes, cast stone coping, galvanized metal handrails and railings, drainage, demolition, site protection, cleanup, and related electrical work. One stairway will include an inclined platform lift with guide rails, drive system, controls, safety devices, structural supports, testing, commissioning, operator training, and maintenance documentation. The work must be coordinated around an occupied stadium, athletic activities, existing field turf, adjacent construction, restricted access, and public and student-athlete safety requirements. Proposals are evaluated on company and team qualifications, similar project experience, project approach, schedule, and pricing. The response must include an introductory letter, company and team qualifications, organizational information, at least three similar projects completed within the last five years with photos and references, a detailed project approach, a critical-path construction schedule, and completed pricing and required compliance documentation.
