Description
The Naval Research Laboratory's Spacecraft Engineering Division is conducting a sources-sought Request for Information for potential contractor support under the draft SPAce & Spacecraft Systems DEsign II effort. The anticipated work covers space system and aerospace engineering and technical services supporting the definition, development, analysis, design, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, launch, and on-orbit support of space systems, spacecraft subsystems, hypersonic platforms, communications and tracking systems, and associated ground support equipment. The scope includes program management; aerospace and space systems engineering; mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, structural, thermal, propulsion, attitude-control, robotics, and optical systems engineering; requirements management and verification; manufacturing and logistics; launch and space vehicle testing; test-facility operation and maintenance; mission and quality assurance; contamination control; technical documentation; information technology supporting the work; and new technology development. The draft labor-hour table identifies 271,680 total contract labor hours across engineering, technician, program management, technical writing, cost analysis, contract administration, and related labor categories. Certain personnel will require facility access and active Secret or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearances, as specified in the draft statement of work. This is an RFI/sources-sought notice for planning and market research only, not a formal solicitation, and no award will result from responses.
