The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority is soliciting sealed general bids for replacement of approximately 60,200 square feet of carpet in the Thomas Michael Menino Convention & Exhibition Center Ballroom. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, supervision, temporary protection, cleanup, and miscellaneous costs; remove and recycle the existing carpet and pads; grind or fill the substrate to eliminate adhesive residue and create a level surface; and install owner-furnished carpet and adhesives using the direct glue-down method. The contractor must also furnish transition strips, primers, and necessary accessories. Work must be coordinated with safety regulations, event schedules, site-access restrictions, and emergency-egress requirements during the facility closure. Night shifts or overtime may be required to meet the completion deadline, with those costs included in the initial bid and no additional compensation for shift-related expenses. Additional areas requested by the owner will be performed at stipulated unit prices. Bidders must provide a Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance Certificate of Eligibility showing the required classification and capacity rating, including certification for the estimated project cost of $829,127 and the Floor Covering category.
