Description
The City of Tampa, Florida, is soliciting bids for a disposal facility to accept and dispose of waste tires, with or without rims, generated at the City's McKay Bay Transfer Stations. The awarded contractor must operate a permitted facility within a 50-mile radius of the transfer stations and comply with all local codes, Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations, and OSHA standards. The contract will cover disposal of passenger vehicle tires (with and without rims) and truck/oversized tires, priced per ton. The initial term is three years, with an option to renew for two additional years, and the City may also extend the contract unilaterally for up to three 30-day periods. Bidders must submit documentation of facility permits, capacity, and compliance history, and must be certified as a Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) to be eligible for a 5% bid discount (up to $10,000) for evaluation purposes. The solicitation is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) with sealed bids due by September 4, 2026.
